About TERA

TERA Semiconductors is a Brazilian provider of outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) services. We specialize in the assembly, packaging, and testing of semiconductor devices, including integrated circuits, following wafer fabrication. Silicon wafers are fabricated in specialized semiconductor manufacturing facilities, known as fabs. The individual dies must then be separated, packaged for integration into electronic systems, and tested for quality and performance. OSAT providers perform these essential stages to help ensure that each component meets reliability, performance, and safety requirements before delivery to electronics manufacturers.

Our History

Our operations began in 2014 with a commitment to advancing Brazil’s semiconductor industry through innovation, manufacturing excellence, and the development of high-technology solutions. From the outset, the company invested in expanding its production capacity, achieved ISO certification, and began volume production of a range of package types and memory solutions, including TSOP48L, BGA, eMMC, and eMCP.

Over the years, the company reached significant production milestones, exceeding 10 million integrated circuits produced and introducing technologies such as four- and eight-die stacking and LPDDR4 memory. These developments strengthened its ability to meet the electronics industry’s growing requirements for quality, performance, and innovation.

In 2025, the company expanded its international activities by supplying eMMC solutions to major Chinese smartphone manufacturers. It also joined the Digitron Group and officially adopted the TERA brand. This new phase strengthened its international presence and reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, technological advancement, and the development of Brazil’s semiconductor industry.

What Is an OSAT Provider?

An outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) provider specializes in the assembly, packaging, and testing of semiconductor devices, including integrated circuits, following wafer fabrication. Although silicon wafers are produced in specialized semiconductor manufacturing facilities, known as fabs, individual dies must still be separated, packaged for integration into electronic systems, and tested for quality and performance. OSAT providers perform these essential stages to help ensure that components meet reliability, performance, and safety requirements before delivery to electronics manufacturers.

Across the OSAT industry, packaging technologies include 3D integration, die stacking, wafer-level packaging (WLP), system-in-package (SiP), and high-density packages. These technologies serve applications in artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, telecommunications, automotive electronics, medical devices, and the Internet of Things (IoT). They can improve semiconductor performance, reduce power consumption and device size, and enhance reliability.

The OSAT industry plays a strategic role in the global semiconductor supply chain, connecting wafer fabrication with the manufacture of electronic equipment. Smartphones, computers, vehicles, medical equipment, communications networks, satellites, and industrial automation systems depend on reliable assembly, packaging, and test processes. As demand for more sophisticated electronic devices grows, OSAT providers play an increasingly important role in technological innovation. Advances in semiconductor packaging and testing enable smaller, faster, more energy-efficient, and more reliable equipment. These improvements benefit healthcare, education, transportation, communications, and sustainability. Precision medical equipment, advanced driver assistance systems, 5G network infrastructure, and artificial intelligence applications all depend on this technological progress.

OSAT providers also contribute to economic and social development. They support the development of highly skilled professionals, encourage research and innovation, strengthen strategic industrial supply chains, and improve industry competitiveness. Growth in the OSAT industry can strengthen the resilience of the global semiconductor supply chain and reduce supply vulnerabilities. It can also help make innovative solutions in healthcare, energy, public safety, education, and digital transformation more accessible, reliable, and sustainable.
